SANTA CRUZ >> Mark Davidson of Scotts Valley dressed as Vladimir Putin while carrying a piñata of Donald Trump during Saturday’s march in Santa Cruz to rally the president to release his tax returns.
The piñata contained phony tax returns.

The protest, which was organized locally by activist group Santa Cruz Indivisible, was part of the national Tax Day movement to compel the president to reveal his earnings to the Internal Revenue Service and any potential conflicts of interest.

Davidson, who wore a black suit with a mask resembling the Russian leader, posed for photos just before the march started about noon at Santa Cruz City Hall. About 1,000 supporters walked in solidarity through downtown Santa Cruz.
