Project Connect: Police-Community Relations
June 9 @ 5:15 pm - 7:00 pm PDT
Program Change for Tuesday’s Conversation
The Project Connect team, like many or all you have been following the murder of George Floyd and the worldwide demonstrations against police brutality. After discussing it we feel that we need to change our program on June 9 to a more relevant and more pressing conversation. Our new conversation Police-Community Relations, is inspired by a Living Room Conversation.
We are experiencing tragedy in our nation and our communities. We all want law enforcement to be fair. And we want police to be able to do their job in a manner that is safe for them, the citizens and the community. Let’s start with this as a given. Policing has become a point of discussion as violence crossing racial lines has provoked racial tensions. Too often, the conversation remains paralyzed in fear or anger – with people unable to share deeply considered feelings and perspectives. This conversation for Change will focus on thought and perspectives on improving the Community-Police Relations.
The registration link remains the same https://santacruzpl.
however the description on the library website may not be able to be updated but be assured we will be talking about Police-Community relations. Reservations are required. We apologize for any confusion.
You will receive a link to the conversation 24 hours in advance and one hour in advance of the event. We look forward to seeing you there. If you register and can’t make it please let us know.
The time remains the same: Tuesday, June 9, 2020, 5:15PM to 7:00PM via zoom in your own home.
We hope to see you there.
